1941 - 2017

Ramiro N. Navarro, 75, of Avon, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at his home in Avon, Indiana. He was born in Sahuayo, Michoacan, Mexico to Maria Negrete and Alberto Navarro on December 5, 1941. He married Mariela Uribe Navarro on February 8, 1969.

Ramiro worked as a Quality Control Inspector at United Technologies in Indianapolis until May 1997 when he retired.

Ramiro was a devoted husband, father , grandfather, uncle and friend.
He loved taking his wife to the casino and traveling. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family, going camping and cooking them big, delicious meals. Ramiro enjoyed playing poker and dominoes with his son and friends. One of his greatest enjoyments was watching boxing and seeing his favorite team, the Colts, play football.

Ramiro is survived by his wife, Mariela; daughter and son-in-law, Arleen and Nelson Gonzalez of Indianapolis; son and daughter-in-law, Jaime and Rosita Navarro of Avon; grandchildren, Sebastian Gonzalez, Daniel Gonzalez, Alex Navarro, Julian Gonzalez and Vanessa Navarro; brother, Jesus (Chucho) Navarro; sister, Carmela Alvirde Navarro; sister, Letica Navarro; sister, Maricela Mendiola; pet, Milli; and a host of other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jose Luis Navarro; brother, Francisco Navarro; sister, Josephina Cordova Navarro; sister, Guadalupe Rodriguez Navarro; and brother, Alberto Navarro.

A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 10 am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 545 Eastern Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46201.

Interment will be at Cavalry Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Announcement of interment will be posted once details are available.
