Greenwood - Lucille “Lucy” Abel, 77, of Greenwood, IN passed peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family. She entered her eternal home in Heaven on July 7, 2017 at 7:20 a.m.

Lucy was born on November 28, 1939 in Weeksbury, Kentucky in the Appalachian Mountains. She was a coal miner’s daughter and proud of her heritage. She enjoyed sharing stories about her childhood in the mountains. Her favorite vacation spot was the Smoky Mountains. Lucy was a born again Christian and a loving, devoted wife and mother. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. She is deeply missed. Her husband and daughters eagerly await the time when the Lord reunites their family and they embrace her once more.
