Indianapolis – Carolyn Elise “Sissy” Owens, 44, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017.

Sissy was born September 1, 1973 in Chicago, IL. She served her community as a housekeeper in the hotel industry. Her daughter Jessica described her as someone who would do anything for anybody. She loved life and was very lucky at everything. Sissy loved to watch her father drag race. She was an incredible cook and was a grill master. While she had many interests, she loved spending time with her family, particularly her granddaughter, more than anything else.

Sissy was preceded in death by her daughters, Stacie and Ceejae and step-son, Jason Owens. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Jessica and Jaecee Watts; husband, John Owens; step-son, Jordan Owens; sisters, Karen Watts and her companion, Kenny Moritz, Priscilla Watts and Jennifer Watts; brother, Richard Watts, Jr. and his wife, Tammy; granddaughter, Ja’zelle Watts; parents, Richard and Kim Watts; and many other loving family members and dear friends.

Sissy’s family will receive friends Friday, September 22, 2017, from 4 – 8 pm and Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 10 am – 12 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funeral & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
