Roderick Kelvin Smiley “Mr. Rick”, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 13, 2017. Roderick was born in Indianapolis on July 20, 1959. He graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1977. Roderick was always the life of the party; he enjoyed visiting and entertaining others. He was affectional known as “Boom Boom”.

He is survived by his mother: Delories Amos, children: Tiia Smiley, Paul Michael Smiley, Dimetria Blaylock, Roderick Smiley II, Brandon Smiley, Jackson Smiley; 14 grandchildren; siblings: Reginald, Fonda, Delories Fay, Raymond, Russell, Andre’, Kimberly, Rodney, Kanisha, Kathi, Royal; and a host of other family and friends.

Roderick was preceded in death by his father; grandparents: Edmund Squires and Catherine Squires; uncle: Ronald Lee Squires.

Visitation will be at 10 A.M. on Friday, December 22, 2017 until the funeral service at 11 A.M. at Newcomer - Indianapolis Chapel, 925 E. Hanna Ave., IN 46227. Interment will follow at New Crown Cemetery.
