Ms. Powers was born September 16, 1944 in Burkesville, KY. She spent much of her working life serving her community as a waitress. Her family described her as a diehard Elvis fan who loved watching old, classic, black and white movies. While she had many interests, her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Ms. Powers was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Joseph Powers. She is survived by her son, James Powers and his wife, Angie; daughter, Dana McCormick and her husband, Dewayne; sister, Sue Long; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and her beloved dogs, Rudy and Gizmo.
Ms. Powers’ family will receive friends, Tuesday, December 26, 2017, from 12 – 2 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will follow at 2 pm.
