Greencastle - James Lee Parker, 76, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 12, 2018.
Parker was born February 2, 1942 in Brazil, IN to the late Otis and Mary Geneva (Galbreath) Parker. Parker was raised in Indianapolis on the Westside where he owned and operated Parker’s Paint & Body Shop for 35 years. He also co-owned Hendricks County Auto Parts from 1975 - 1980. Parker loved all things FORD, and all things AUTO RACING. He was an avid outdoorsman and quite a character in the personality department. He once built a roller coaster for his daughters and even took them scuba diving at ages 7 & 8. When he proudly customized their first cars, the girls ended up with a ‘72 Barracuda and a ‘69 Firebird.
Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Mary Geneva (Galbreath) Parker and his brother, Dennis Parker. He leaves behind his daughters, Bonnie Johnson and her husband, Jay, and Crystal Parker; grandsons, Ryan Johnson and his wife, Raenetta and Kyle Johnson; two brothers, and one sister Robert Dale Parker and his wife Chris, Larry Dean Parker and wife Betty, and Margaret Ann Brooks and husband Jerry,
six great grandchildren, David, Kayde, Logan, Marley Clayton and Lindsey; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
