Indianapolis - Gary Steven “Stevee” Newbold, 63, passed away Monday April 23, 2018.

The heavens are rockin’ tonight because Stevee Newbold has gone home to play in the band. Stevee was born September 21, 1954 in Indianapolis. He was a notable, local musician who played with countless musicians from many genres throughout his long career. Perhaps he is best remembered for his time spent with the bands Jubal, Zerfas, and Aaron Band from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. Some of his more memorable songs include, “Rachel is Weeping”, “Friends”, and “Charity of Strangers”. He also co-wrote, performed vocals, and played guitar on the songs “Stoney Wellitz”, “Hope”, “Fool’s Parade” and “The Piper” on the1973 release of Zerfas’ self-titled album.

Steve was a loving husband, a faithful son, an adoring father, the greatest big brother, an admiring grandpa and the best friend to his many friends. Steve once said, “If I were an octopus, I still wouldn’t have enough fingers to count all of my friends on.”

Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Terri Sue Newbold; daughters, Angela Shawn Newbold-Grider, Amy Joan Martinez and Ashlee Newbold; step daughters, Melody Schulz and Brandi Cox; father, Jackie Lee Newbold; mother, Heather Jane McGuire, sisters, Karan Elaine Newbold, Sheryl Lynn McGinness and Lora Nicole Kinder; brother, Alan Scott Newbold; grandchildren, Marissa, Sean, Zuri, William, Jonathan, Justice and Journi; and many other loving family members and friends.
