Indianapolis - Earl Martin “Bug” Anderson, 65, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019. Bug was born September 16, 1953 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Earl M. Anderson and Shirley Bradford Anderson. He grew up in a neighborhood called Sunshine Gardens. He attended Southport High School and graduated from Manuel High School. His nickname came from his aunt, Nevada Benedict. She called him “June Bug” and the name “Bug” stuck.

Bug was employed as a machinist for 42 years. He worked for the same aerospace company throughout his career, though it went through some name changes. It began as Montgomery Machine which changed to Milturn Corp and finally to Aero Fab Corp. His family is very proud of his accomplishments. Life deals us all different cards. Bug made the most of the cards in his hand.

Bug will be remembered for his compassionate and caring manners. He was a loving husband and caring father. He was a hard worker and played even harder. He loved spending time with his family, travelling to Nascar races and destinations with a beach. After he finished mowing the lawn, Bug liked to enjoy a cold beer and Nascar races in his garage. Bug enjoyed music, particularly oldies and country. He loved John Wayne Westerns. Bug also loved all of his rescue puppy dogs; Peppy, Sara, Grissom, Chase, Pixie, Princess and Hazel. Boy did they love their daddy!

Bug was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mark and Jeff Anderson, sister, Tammy Hapgood; brother-in-law, Rick Jones; mother-in-law, Nancy Montgomery; and sister-in-law, Becky Montgomery. He is survived by his beloved wife and high school sweetheart of 47 years, Cathy Montgomery Anderson; children, Carrie Anderson and Jason Anderson; sister, Gerry Jones; brothers-in-law; Pip Hapgood, Harold Montgomery and his wife, Jodi, and Doug Montgomery; sister-in-law, Donna Heath and her husband, Bruce; many, many nieces and nephews; 7 great nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.

Bug’s family will receive friends Thursday, June 13, 2018, from 2 – 4 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will follow at 4 pm at the funeral home with Eric Allen and Jim Duvall officiating.
