Indianapolis - Cheryl Sue Basey, 72, passed away at 4:46 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born to the late Harold L. and Beulah Mary (Pinnick) Deppe on February 8, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Cheryl enjoyed gardening and taking care of her pets. She took pleasure in bowling, poker, bingo and gambling at the casino. Cheryl loved sitting outside on her swing at home.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of nearly 42 years, James Basey; her sons, Cavin Deppe and his husband, Thomas Brown, Toby Thompson, Scott Thompson and his wife, Gia and Vincent Basey; her sister, Deborah Shelby; her grandchildren, Jordan Thompson, Damien Hughes, Taylor Thompson, Angelina Thompson, Payton Thompson and Griffin Thompson; and her great grandchild, Nicholas Carballal II. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Steven Deppe.

Cheryl's friends and family may visit from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The celebration of life will follow at 1:00 PM. For the health and safety of all guest attending, face masks are required. Thank you.
