Indianapolis – Arthur “Art” E. Stoddard Sr. “Stud”, age 89, passed away at 2:01 PM on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Franciscan Heath Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born to the late Charles Edward and Elsie Virginia (Whitmer) Stoddard on March 15, 1932 in Normal, Illinois.

Art enjoyed playing Euchre, watching football and hanging out with his retiree buddies. He cherished spending time with family and friends. Art was a member of the VFW, American Legion and UAW IIII.

He is survived by his loving children, Janetta Taylor and her husband, Karl, Arthur “Ed” Stoddard Jr., Virginia Stoddard and Debbie Burkhart; his grandchildren, Daniel, Rebekah, Tommy, Candise, Carrie, Isiah, Karl Jr., Kristopher, Jacob, Lilly, Levi, Luke, Michael and Bryan; his great grandchildren, Mya, Cali, Rahn, Brooklynn, Dylan, Jay and Jason; and his sister, Doris Cropp. In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianna Stoddard and siblings: Bob Stoddard, Virginia, Evelyn and Marjorie.

Art’s friends and family may visit from 4 – 8 PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
