Floyd graduated from Emmerich Manual High School, class of 1969. He attended trade school for automotive training. Floyd was an alignment specialist for many years at Goodyear Tires.
He was an avid racing fan and enjoyed viewing hot rods. Floyd had a passion for racing and motorcycles. In his spare time you could find him enjoying the outdoors and fishing. Floyd loved spending time with family.
He is survived by his loving children, Jennifer Lynn Hines and her husband, Darrick, Christopher Wayne Fortner, Steven Keith Fortner and Angela Jo Fortner; his siblings, Mary Magdalen Bitner, Cryaton Lee Fortner and Donna Marie Fortner; and his grandchildren, Jack Fortner, Marcus Fortner, Ben Fortner, Carly Perras, Taryn McClain, Toni McClain and Arianna Hines. Floyd was preceded in death by Steven Allen Fortner, Jennifer Lynn Fortner, Magdelin May Fuller, Pleasant H. Blaylock, Violet Fortner and Razz Fortner.
Floyd’s friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.
