Karen Lee Pieper, age 80 of Indianapolis, passed away May 7, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born February 25, 1942 in Indianapolis the daughter of Wilford and Mary (Everts) Horsley. She was a 1960 graduate of Warren Central High School. Karen married the love of her life, Arnold L. Pieper on November 18, 1960 in Indianapolis. She worked as a secretary for Avon School Corporation for 17 years until she retired in 1997. Karen attended Apostolic Christian Church in Indianapolis. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Karen loved attending church regularly and worshipping God. Karen especially adored her grandchildren. She was always looking out for others and had a true giving heart. More than anything, Karen will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Karen’s family includes husband, Arnold L. Pieper; 3 children, Alan L. (wife Julie) Pieper, Jeffory S. (wife Jennifer) Pieper, and Kristina (husband Jon) Winters; 4 grandchildren, Taylor Pieper, Christopher Pieper, Alan Pieper, Jr., and Elliot Pieper; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.

A funeral service celebrating Karen’s life and faith will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Apostolic Christian Church (previously Moriah Apostolic Church), 4370 Mann Road, Indianapolis, IN 46221 with Rev. Urshan officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis. Newcomer Funeral Home is honored to handle Karen’s funeral arrangements.
