Indianapolis - Karen Sue Dewar Evans, 64, passed away Tuesday May 16, 2022. She was born May 1, 1958 to the late Albert Oscar Dewar, Jr. and Betty Jean Baker Dewar.
Karen is survived by her loving niece, Angi Hopper of Brownsburg, IN who watched over Karen as she went through cancer and survived. When more complications arose, Angi was her guardian angel until the end. Karen is also survived by her sister, Patti Dewar of GA; brothers, William Dewar of Indianapolis and Robert Dewar of Knoxville, TN; nieces and nephews: John Russell of GA, Ronald Russell of Austin, TX, Jason Russell of Austin, TX, Deanna Russell of GA, Melissa Dewar Richardson of Eastlake, CA; and many more family members.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Albert O. Dewar, Jr.; mother, Betty Jean Gibson; stepfather, Shelby Gibson; husband, Larry Evans, Sr.; twin sister, Sharon Kay Vasquez; and nephews, Christopher Root and Trevor Dewar.
A memorial service celebrating Karen’s life will take place Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions at 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
