Jose Luis “Pepe” Rodriguez, age 67 of Indianapolis passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at his residence. He was born July 29, 1955 in Brownsville, Texas the son of Ignacio R. and Aurelia C. (Corpus) Rodriguez. Pepe worked for many years as a carpenter. He married Peggy Hurley in 1990 in Plymouth, Indiana. Pepe had one main hobby and everyone who knew him knew what it was, and it was fishing! He enjoyed spending time with his family, joking with everyone and making everyone around him laugh. Pepe was a friend to everyone and he always made sure everyone was well taken care of. There is nothing in the world he loved more than his family and friends, especially his daughter and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving tio, welo, father and brother.

Pepe is survived by his daughter, Vanessa (Jake Scott) Rodriguez; 2 granddaughters, Emma Scott and Annabelle Scott; 3 sisters, Maria Ancelba Sanchez, Maximinia Bryant and Olga Beach; 2 brothers, Marcelino Rodriguez and David Rodriguez; several nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Pepe is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Rodriguez; sister, Maria Consuelo Sanchez; and 2 brothers, Jose Angel Rodriguez and Ignacio Rodriguez.

A funeral service honoring Pepe’s life will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the funeral home.
