Franklin – Richard P. Bryson, Sr., 80, went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 7, 2017.

Mr. Bryson was born November 12, 1936 in New Castle, IN. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army National Guard. Prior to his retirement, he was a longtime employee of the city of Franklin where he served in various maintenance capacities. He was a member of Grace Assembly of God. He loved softball and basketball and was a youth coach for over 25 years. He especially loved to sing and could be found witnessing for God to many with his music. It was not uncommon to find him singing regularly at church or the Greenwood VonMaur or the Franklin Walmart, welcoming home troops with patriotic songs.

Mr. Bryson was preceded in death by his daughters, Yvonne Bailey and Kimberly Sullivan. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Naomi Bryson; sons, Richard Bryson, Jr., Allan Bryson and Michael Bryson; grandchildren, Joseph Bailey, Evan Bryson, Kristana Sullivan, Lauren Jeffers, Andrew Bryson, Ian Bryson and Gabriel Bryson; sister, Phyllis Childers; and brother, Wayne Bryson.
