Mary E. Farris, 75, of Indianapolis died Saturday, September 16, 2017. An Indianapolis native, Mary was born on June 25, 1942 to Ossie and Vernice (Higgens) Kelso.

Mary is survived by her sons and their spouses: Don & Janet Farris of Greenwood, David & Stephanie Farris of Carthage, Daniel Farris of Indianapolis; nephew and his wife: James & Anna Wright; brother and sister-in-law: Arthur & Kay Kelso of Indianapolis; sister: Barbara McCullah; grandchildren: Michael, Stephanie, David, Ben, Kalianna, Jacob, Jessica; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Harold “Shorty” Farris; sisters: Carol Kelso, Evelyn Nolan, and Dorothy Kelso.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 11AM until the Funeral Service at 1 P.M. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Indianapolis Chapel 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis 46227. Interment will follow at New Crown Cemetery.
