Phillip "Phil" Noeske
1950 - 2019

Indianapolis - Phillip "Phil" Charles Noeske, 68, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Methodist Hospital, surrounded by his daughters.

Phil was born November 10, 1950, in Park Rapids, MN to Dorothy (Rixen) Noeske and Melvin Noeske. He attended Park Rapids schools and graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1968. Phil attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 1972.

Phil met his wife Lynn while in the hospital in 1969. Had to have an emergency appendectomy, and Lynn at the time was a lab technician that had come to his room to do a blood draw. She marveled at how tall he was, and I think he was just immediately smitten.

Over Phil’s 40+ year career, he spent the majority of his time in Audio Visual Systems Design. He was well respected in his field, and was one of the best in the business. His approach was always with the customer’s needs in mind. He retired in 2013 due to declining health.

Phil and Lynn had two daughters Jessica and Melissa who made Phil proud of them every day as well as his 4 grandsons: Aiden, Ian, Liam and Braxton. Phil enjoyed fellowship with his church family and often attended Brown County during Labor Day. Minnesota was home for Phil and he often visited Itasca State park to take in the beautiful scenery of gorgeous pine trees.

Phil coached, took stats, and travelled around the country with his daughter, Jessica during, sport adventures in both travel basketball and travel softball until after her college years. It was certainly one of his greatest joys seeing her excel on the court or field.

Phil and Melissa shared a unique relationship, as she worked alongside him in the Audio Visual world for nearly 20 years. There is no question that Melissa is a lot like her dad, she certainly was gifted with his gift for gab, and making translating technology easy for anyone to understand.

Phil is survived by Lynn Noeske; daughters, Jessica (Brad Gregson) of Bargersville, IN and Melissa (Matthew Wilson) of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, Aiden Wilson, Ian Wilson, Liam Wilson and Braxton Gregson; siblings, Lowell Noeske (Luann) of Pierre, SD and Marie (Robbin Hodges) of Huntsville, AL; and his father, Melvin Noeske of Park Rapids, MN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Rixen) Noeske and his brother, Wayne Noeske.

Phil will be remembered for his strong will, his beautiful mind, his sense of humor, and his big heart.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 2 PM, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 445 East Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis, IN 46227. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in honor of Phil, to the Resurrection Audio/Visual Fund.
