Cornelia “Kay” Sinkhorn
1937 - 2019

Cornelia “Kay” Sinkhorn of Indianapolis was born on November 6, 1937 in Edinburg to Gilbert and Helen McQuin. She passed peacefully at home on July 10th, 2019.

Kay was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family never went without, even taking in families when they had nowhere else to go, adopting kids and grandkids every chance she got. She didn’t have a selfish bone in her body and was a hard worker, retiring from Indiana Bell and FedEx Express. She married and later divorced Harold Sinkhorn, together they had 6 kids. She had a wry sense of humor and was stubborn as a mule. Her hobbies included watching crime shows, walking, reading, and spoiling her grandkids.

Kay is survived by her children: Steve Sinkhorn, David Sinkhorn, Teresa (Sinkhorn) Schmitt, Donald (Jilayne) Sinkhorn, Laura Sinkhorn, Darren Sinkhorn; 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister: Jacqueline (McQuin) Hartman; brother: Danny McQuin and a host of other family and friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her father: Gilbert McQuin; mother: Helen McQuin; the woman whom raised her: Chris McQuin; brother: James McQuin.

A Memorial Visitation will be from 12:00 until her Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Newcomer - Indianapolis Chapel, 925 E. Hanna Ave., IN 46227.
