Indianapolis - Jan Marie Feigen Chafin, 73, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020. She was born December 24, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Clarence and Elmina Feigen. Jan was employed by Anthem where she served as a data processor for over 15 years. Additionally, prior to her time at Anthem, she was employed by Mayflower for 31 years. She loved her Rosaries and animals (of all kinds) and the road trips that she used to take with her cousins at least once a year. She also enjoyed going to the movie theater with her friend, Diane.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Elmina Feigen. She is survived by her sister, Theresa Austin; brother, John Feigen; and many beloved cousins and dear friends.

Jan’s family will receive friends Wednesday, February 5, 2020, from 5 – 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Friends will also be received Thursday, January 6, 2020, from 10 – 11 am at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 South Meridian Street, Greenwood, IN 46143. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 am at the church. Interment will be conducted privately at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Jan’s family requests that you consider making a donation, in her memory, to the Humane Society of Johnson County, 3827 Graham Road, Franklin, IN 46131 or Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge of Tyler, Texas, 17552 FM 14, Tyler, TX 75706 or St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church, 4720 East 13th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46201.
