Southport - Brenda Faye Shrum, 67, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021. She was born January 21, 1953 in Hazard, KY to the late Wilbur and Travis Griffie Ison. She was the oldest of 6 siblings.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randall; sister, Pam; and granddaughter, Jacquelynn Lewis. She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 44 years ,Johnny V. Shrum; sons: Nelson W. Lewis and his wife, Rose, Zach J. Shum and his wife, Karen and John V. Shrum Jr.; sisters: Sheila, Tina and Lisa; grandchildren: Nelson Lewis Jr, Mason and Hawkins Shrum, and Jacob and Josh Shrum; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed, but we know she's out on the lake catching a big one.

Brenda’s family will receive friends Thursday, January 7, 2021, from 4 – 6 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. A memorial service will follow at 6 pm. For the health and safety of all guests attending, face masks are required.
