1949 - 2021

Indianapolis - Richard Allen “Rick” Dalton, 72, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was born February 04, 1949 in Indianapolis to the late Lester and Elizabeth Dean Dalton. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. He was employed by Conrail CSX where he served on the railroad for 35 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and go-carting with his son. In his later years, he spent so much time at Floral Park Cemetery visiting his loved ones that some folks actually thought he was an employee.

Rick was preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Dalton and Connie Ringer; brother, John Dalton; and grandchildren: Shawn Huddleson, Jr., Rebecca Blevins, Nathan Huddleson and Brittany Huddleson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Patricia Angel; daughter, Sabrina Huddleson and her husband, Shawn; son, Richard Dalton, Jr. and his wife, Sara; sister, Evelyn “Bebo” Dalton; grandchildren: Nathan Dalton, Nevin Dalton, Noah Dalton, Brooklynn Dalton, Gary Blevins and Nick Adimare; and many other loving family members and friends.

Rick’s family will receive friends Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 5 – 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will be conducted Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 1 pm at the funeral home. For the health and safety of all guests attending, face masks are required. A committal service will follow at Floral Park Cemetery, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
