1941 - 2021

Indianapolis - Stephen Raymond McPeak, 80, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021. He was born March 27, 1941 in Indianapolis to the late William and Marjorie Sprong McPeak. He attended Sacred Heart Schools. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served with distinction from 1959-1965.

Stephen was employed by the Indianapolis Fire Department where he served as a firefighter from 1967 – 1986. After his retirement, he owned and operated his own produce market. He moved to Florida in 1989. He lived there for 27 years and moved back to Indianapolis in 2016. Stephen loved going to the casino, the horse track and watching any kind of sport, but particularly the Colts and the Pacers. He also loved spending time with his family whenever possible.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marjorie Sprong McPeak; son, Shawn McPeak; brother, David McPeak; sister, Patricia Ann Jennings; and step-son, Michael Myers. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna McPeak; sister, Mary Helen Boots; daughter, Kelly Bartram and her husband, David; sons, Michael McPeak and his companion, Melissa Logan and Ryan McPeak and his wife, Andi; mother of his children, Shirley Keffaber-McPeak; step-daughters, Cathy Smith and Lisa Crane and her husband, Larry; step-sons, Eugene and David Smith; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; 1 step-great-great grandchild; and many other close family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Friday, September 3, 2021, at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225. A committal service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
