Indianapolis – Takeira Sharay Powell, 35, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born to Raymond Sr. and Barbara (Crawford) Powell on February 15, 1986 in Gary, IN. Takeira loved to sing.

Takeira is survived by her loving mother, Barbara Powell; her children, Amerial Upshaw, Aaliyah Hampton and Matthew Hampton Jr.; her siblings, Rashawn Powell, Raymond Powell Jr. and Chernell (Powell) Jordan; and her fiancé, Mark Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Powell Sr., maternal grandfather Leo Crawford Sr. and maternal grandmother Mary Crawford.

Takeira’s family & friends may visit from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Acton Cemetery, 7900 Acton Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46259.
