Jeffrey Dean "Jeff" Simpson
1957 - 2021

Jeffrey Dean Simpson, 64, passed away peacefully at his home in Columbus, Indiana on October 22, 2021. Jeff was born on September 25, 1957, to Barbara Burchfield Simpson and James D. Simpson, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his sister, Joni Simpson Morgan and brother, James Jason “Jake” Simpson. He is survived by his three children Jeffrey Simpson Jr., Ashley Simpson and Lindsay (Nate) Brennan; his grandchildren Jacob Simpson, Bella Simpson, Lilac Brennan and Nathan Brennan; his brothers, David (Teri) Simpson and Darryl (Daun) Simpson; his uncle, Chris (Roxanne) Burchfield, six nieces, one nephew and lots of cousins.

Jeff grew up on the southside of Indianapolis, graduating from Southport High School in 1976. After high school he followed in his father’s footsteps and went into the plumbing field. He scored a perfect score on the plumbing certification test to become a journeyman plumber. He worked several years at Methodist Hospital before starting his own business.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. The love of his hobbies also led him to become a very good cook. Jeff also enjoyed socializing with his friends and family, never wanting to miss a party.

Jeff’s greatest loves in his life were his children and grandchildren. No matter where their lives have led them, Jeff always kept them close to his heart and his face would light up whenever he talked about them.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with services following at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 E. Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or cause.
