In Memory Of
Judith Roselind Harris
1944 - 2021
Judi attended Harry E. Wood High School. She married Wendall L. Harris on December 7, 1985 in Sarasota, Florida. Judi worked retail for many years until retiring and settling into her role as full time grandma. Judi’s grandchildren meant the world to her.
Judi was kind, gentle and most of all loving. She was always willing to help family, friends and neighbors when needed. Judi enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. She loved her scratch off lottery tickets as well as a trip to the casino to play the slot machines . In earlier years she played quite a lot of bingo, a game she learned to love from her mother. Her favorite pastime recently was scrolling through her iPad, afternoon games of Yahtzee, and FaceTime calls with her youngest grandson, Ashton. Judi was known for her “famous” chocolate cake she baked for birthdays and holidays. She loved her family dearly.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 36 years, Wendall L. “Mort” Harris; her children, Steven M. Wiarek (Nancy) and Penny S. Pero (AJ); her sister, Shirley Slinker; and her grandchildren, Cody Wiarek, Brittany Konen, Jacob Tuvell, Reuben Pero, Parker Pero, Cassidy Pero and Ashton Pero.
In addition to her parents, Judi was preceded in death by her many siblings: Charles Collins, Roland Collins, Harry Collins Jr., Bobby Collins, Paul Richards Collins, Barbara Williams, Joyce Slinker, Charlotte Collins, Patty Albertson, Sharon Paberzs and Bruce Collins.
Judi’s friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Oliver officiating.
