She graduated Emmerich Manual High School in 1967. Thereafter, she attended Indiana Business College, and upon completion gained employment at the Indianapolis Bankruptcy Court as legal secretary and court reporter.
In 1989, she and a friend moved to a few different places ending up in Albuquerque, NM, where she stayed and worked at Darko Products until her retirement in 2013. She subsequently moved back to Indianapolis, to help with the care of her ailing mother until her passing in 2019.
Brenda enjoyed Ballroom dancing, family, sewing quilts, and traveling (Hawaii was her favorite destination and she always wanted to go back). Her passion was spending time with her family and friends and caring for their needs. she loved to cook for family gatherings and her Peanut Butter Fudge was always a favorite treat.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mamie Thompson; and sister, Wanda Perkoski. She is survived by her sisters, Donna (Mike) Huff, Connie (Duane) Raymer and Mary Ann Thompson; brothers, Michael J. and Tom (Chris) Thompson; and brother-in-law, Frank Perkoski. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 Hanna Dr. (317-737-1545). Funeral Services will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 pm at the Newcomers.
