Patricia Ann “Pat Pat” Hooten, age 66 of Indianapolis passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at her residence. She was born February 24, 1956 in Indianapolis the daughter of James Hubert and Lassie (Mann) Gilliam. Patricia was a graduate of Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. She married the love of her life David Hooten. She retired from the U.S. Post Office in Indianapolis after working there as a mail clerk for over 30 years. Patricia enjoyed being outdoors and going to family cookouts. She looked forward to the holidays every year, because it simply meant she would get to spend more time with her family. Patricia adored her grandsons. More than anything, Patricia always put her family first and would do anything to help out others in need.

Patricia is survived by her son, Jason (wife Crystal) Hooten; daughter, Mackenzie Hooten; 2 grandsons, Joshua Hooten and Jaxson Hooten; 2 brothers, Ronnie Gilliam and Bobby (wife Mary) Gilliam; sister, Brenda Stonehouse; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father, James Hubert Gilliam; mother; Lassie Shipp; step-father, James "Bud" Shipp; husband, David Hooten; son, Justin Hooten; sister, Kathy O’Hair; brother-in-law, Steve O’Hair; and sister-in-law, Faye Gilliam.

A memorial service celebrating Patricia’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions at 925 East Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the funeral home. Please continue to support Pat Pat’s family during these times.
