1952 - 2022

Thomas Gregory “Greg” Howe, age 69 of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born August 24, 1952 in Indianapolis the son of Clarence Robert Howe and Wynema May (Adams) Grigson. Greg attended Thomas C. Howe High School, and then went onto enlist in the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served his country for 4 years during Vietnam. Greg retired after 30 years from American Protech where he worked as Vice President of Operations. He married Zona Kathryn on September 22, 1984 in Indianapolis. Greg was a member of the American Legion Post 64 and the V.F.W. Post 908. He previously served as a Post Commander at the V.F.W. for many years. Greg enjoyed going camping at their favorite campground. While he spent time at the camp ground he liked to take golf cart rides and talk to all of the neighbors. Greg adored his grandchildren and loved to spend time with his family.

Greg is survived by his wife, Zona Howe; 2 sons, Jeff (wife Emily) Thompson and Tim (wife Abby) Howe; bonus children, Kristy (husband Wayne) Dye and Jim (wife Teri) Thompson; 5 grandchildren, Lana (husband Brandon)Townsend, Anthony Thompson, Annslee Thompson, Ryleigh Howe and Otto Howe; 3 sisters, Debbie Eby, Karen Swann and Vicki Bronstrup; 2 brothers, Robert Howe and Scott Howe; bonus grandchildren, Nikki, Britany, Karena, Ashley, Amber, Lindsey and Jessica; brother-in-law, Bill Merritt; sister-in-law, Nora Vails-Nuetzmann; multiple great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Howe Jr; son, Michael Thompson; sister, Bonnie Merritt; and 2 brothers-in-law, Alvin Nuetzmann and Gary Eby.

Greg’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will plan to have a celebration of life at a later date. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions in Indianapolis is honored to handle Greg’s arrangements.
