Indianapolis - Gail Lee Booker, 74 –

On Saturday August 20, 2022, Gail Lee Booker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away. Gail was 74 years old. He was born to Willard and Alpha Booker on July 17, 1948. Gail was married three times during his life, first to Dana Booker (10 years) survived by Sherri Booker (Daughter), and Gail Booker Jr (Son), second to Debra Booker (3 years) survived by Nicholas Booker (Son), and most recently to Delberta Booker (39 years and forever) survived by his step children (Daughters) Robbie Austill, Mary Shrum, Carla Bodkins, Cynthia Sorrels, and (Son) Joseph Webb. Gail is also survived by Kathy Smith (Sister) and his best fuzzy friend Max the Yorkie. Gail was preceded in death by his brother Gary, and sisters Debbie and Lisa.

Gail made a career for himself doing what he loved, restoring, collecting and selling cars for over 50 years. Gail was also an avid reader dabbling in fiction, non-fiction and comic books. In his later years, he was best known for giving advice and speaking the hard truth. He had a very sharp mind, loved science and collecting miniature cars.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, 11am to 1 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 925 East Hanna Ave. A Funeral Service will be take place at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 29, with burial following at New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis. In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation of any new or used Hot Wheels/Match Box cars to your local Salvation Army. This will be a way to continue his collection for years to come.
