Grant attended Emmerich Manual High School. He worked at Carrier for 20 years, retiring in 2016. Formerly, Grant worked at Masterfit, Merchandise Warehouse and Kroger Bakery. During his leisure time, you could find Grant fishing, golfing, boating or playing pool. He was an avid Colts fan. Grant absolutely loved the Indianapolis Colts football team as well as spending time with his wife and children. He enjoyed swimming and watching Colts games.
Grant is survived by his loving wife of nearly 46 years, Angela Darlene Cobb; daughters, Stacy Cobb-Robertson and her husband, Rusty and Melanie Cobb-Caplinger; siblings: Roxann Gaynor, John Cobb, Robert Cobb, Christina Dinn, David Cobb, Juanita Johnson and Frances Collins; grandchildren: Lindsay Mindach and her husband, Joseph, Brooklyn Robertson, Brianna Caplinger, Brian Cobb Jr., Valerieann Caplinger, Zoe Robertson, Benjamin Cobb, Derek Caplinger, Bradley Cobb, Elyza Zimmerman and Kinsley Cobb; and his great grandson, Wyatt Mindach. In addition to his parents, Grant was preceded in death by his dear son, Brian Cobb and sisters: Janet Bless, Sharon Smith and Wanda Eggert.
Grant’s family will receive friends Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. A celebration of his life will be conducted at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Tom Bartley officiating. A committal service will follow at Concordia Cemetery, 2703 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46225. David Cobb, John Cobb, Robert Cobb, Brian Cobb Jr., Rusty Robertson and Joseph Mindach will serve as pallbearers and Derek Caplinger will serve as an honorary pallbearer. To honor Grant’s memory, you are encouraged to wear Colts Football apparel.
