INDIANAPOLIS – William Zachary “Zach” Gentry, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at his residence. He was born on April 22, 1985 to James Dean and Kelley Rene (Carter) Gentry at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

Zach graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2003. Professionally, he worked as a carpenter specializing in flooring. Zach was a proud father to his 9 year old daughter, Laura Kay Gentry who was born on June 7, 2013. He cherished Laura and loved spending time with her. Zach enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. His hobbies were fishing and playing video games.

Zach is survived by his loving daughter, Laura Kay Gentry; his parents, James Dean and Kelley Rene Carter; his sister, Crystal Haley and her husband, John; his brother, Shane Gentry and his fiancé, Samantha; his aunt, Carrie Smith; his nieces, Destinee Haley, Dakota Haley and Kelley M. Gentry; and his grandfather, William Gentry Jr. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James L. Carter and Trena Scott; his paternal grandmother, Vivian Gentry; and his maternal great grandparents, Paul E. and Frieda Fields.

Zach’s friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.
