Rodney Kirk Demetrius Amos, age 51 of Indianapolis passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 in Indianapolis. He was born December 4, 1970 in Indianapolis the son of Leroy Amos, Sr. and Delories (Wilson) Amos. Rodney was a member of the class of 1986 at Arlington High School in Indianapolis. Rodney was a true artist, both with his hands and his music. He was an incredible rapper and many knew him by the name “Kid Knowledge”. He loved to write songs and perform them. Rodney had the ability to craft anything out of nothing. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Rodney truly had a gift for music and drawing.

Rodney is survived by his mother, Delories Amos; father, Leroy Amos, Sr.; 12 siblings, Reginald (wife Evelyn) Smiley, Fonda Burgess, Delories “Fay” Rice, Raymond (wife Jannifer) Smiley, Russell (wife Roslyn) Smiley, Roger Smiley, Neverly Board, Leroy Amos, Jr., Kimberly Amos, Kanisha Amos, Katherine (husband Rev. Arthur) Spain and Royal Amos; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family members.

Rodney is preceded in death by his brother, Roderick Smiley.

A celebration of Rodney’s life will take place at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Burial will follow the service at New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis.
