1932 - 2022

Lola M. Brethman, age 90 of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Bethany Village in Indianapolis. She was born July 3, 1932 in Indianapolis. Lola was a 1949 graduate of Manuel High School in Indianapolis. She enjoyed being outside gardening and was an avid doll collector. Lola was a previous member of the ETA Pi Kappa Sorority and was a loyal member and helper of the Girls Scouts. She was very involved in her church, Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene and served on many different church boards throughout the years. Lola will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Lola is survived by her 4 daughters, Marcella Green, Richella (husband Jeff) Cruise, Jennifer Hendershot and Julia (husband Jeff) Kapke; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Lola is preceded in death by her mother, Virgie Harting; and husband, Richard F. Brethman who passed away in 2019.

A funeral service celebrating Lola’s life will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions with Rev. Randy Gentry officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
