Korean War Veteran – Jack Lee Critchlow, age 87 went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2022 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born January 27, 1935 in Terre Haute the son of Loran and Luette (Collins) Critchlow. At a young age, Jack enlisted in the United States AirForce and served during the Korean War. He was a member of Town and Country Christian Church in Shelbyville and loved to tell people about the Lord. Jack retired from Ford Motor Company where he worked for over 30 years, until he retired in 1999. While working at Ford for 10 of the 30 years he worked as a forklift operator. He was a former member of Shelby County Abate and the GWRRA Chapter L 2 in Indianapolis. Jack was also a long time member of C.M.A. “Christian Motorcyle Association.” He married Betty J. Eldridge on April 24, 1982 and they have shared over 40 years of marriage together. Jack had a second love which he spent many hours talking about, and that was his purple Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He was able to ride in 46 of the 50 states. He enjoyed talking about riding, what he saw on trips and all of the wonderful people he would meet along the way.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Betty J. Critchlow of Shelbyville; son, Kevin (wife Erika) Critchlow of Morristown; 4 daughters, Josephine of Delphi, Anita of Las Vegas, Tina of Salt Lake City, UT and Julie of Plano, TX; step-son, Kenneth Eldridge of Owen County; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; sister; and beloved daughter Lori on January 17, 2021.
A memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will take place at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Town and Country Christian Church at 2133 Tucker Road Shelbyville, IN 46176. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Military honors by the U.S. Air Force will take place during the service.
