Steven Allen Coleman, age 65 of Indianapolis passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Majestic Care of Southport following an extended illness. He was born January 15, 1957 in Indianapolis, the son of Goldie Mae Arthur. Steve attended George Washington High School in Indianapolis. For many years Steve worked in maintenance. He enjoyed listening to music and could have been considered the fifth Beatle, as he was their number one fan all of his life. Steve enjoyed dressing stylishly, especially in his favorite style of hats. Steve married Jerri Rose on October 1, 2015 at the nursing home, and their marriage was even a loving story on the local news. He enjoyed spaghetti so much that he could have eaten it for every meal. Steve was an Indianapolis Colts fan and an avid fan of the Indianapolis 500. More than anything, Steve enjoyed the simplicity of life.

Steve was a beloved brother, son and uncle.

A graveside service honoring Steve’s life will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions in Indianapolis is honored to handle Steve’s funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Steve’s honor to the National Mental Health Association.
