Shirlene Henry, age 74 of Indianapolis passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born April 27, 1948 in Minnie, Kentucky, a twin daughter of Sol and Dockie Belle (Robinson) Branham. Shirlene married Roy R. Henry in 1963 in West Virginia and they shared many happy years of marriage together until his passing. She was an amazing mother and always put her family first. Shirlene was the fun mom of the neighborhood, always willing to play with the kids and participate in all of the activities. She was very close to her sisters and enjoyed spending time with them. More than anything, Shirlene will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Shirlene is survived by her 3 sons, David R. Henry, Keith (wife Cheryll) Henry and Tommy (wife Tabitha) Henry; 4 siblings, Wanda Compton, Helen Johnson, Bernice Branham and Johnny Branham; 6 grandchildren, Lindsay Henry, Felicia Edmonds, Brayden Henry, Lucas Henry, Kyle Henry and Kaitlyn Henry; great-grandson, Thomas Edmonds; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy R. Henry; twin-sister, Christine Rambo; and 4 siblings, Judy Isaac, Jackie Hall, Alex Branham and Bobbie King.

A memorial service honoring Shirlene’s life will take place at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions at 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
