Teddy W. Smith, age 70 of Indianapolis passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at his residence. Teddy was born December 13, 1952 in Arjay, Kentucky the son of Walter and Billie Jo (Bowman) Smith. He was a 1970 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. For many years, Teddy worked as a hardscape finisher for landscaping companies, with the last company being 4 Seasons Landscaping. He was a hard worker and truly enjoyed his craft. He liked to watch movies, take long relaxing drives in the country and spend time with his life-long companion, Debbie Pugh. Teddy had a soft spot in his heart for animals, especially his two inside cats, “Oreo” and “Trouble”. More than anything, Teddy will be remembered as a hardworking man who truly loved his family, friends and pets.

Teddy is survived by his life-long companion, Debbie Pugh; 5 siblings, Jimmy D. Smith, Patricia A. Popp, Brenda Norris, Barbara Haag and Tammy Andre; 5 step-grandchildren, Jacob Miller, Jessikka Miller, Jencyn Miller, Jillan Miller and Jeremy Groce; and several nieces and nephews.

Teddy is preceded in death by his parents.

Teddy’s wishes were to be cremated and no formal services at this time. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions is honored to handle Teddy’s arrangements.
