Indianapolis – Brian Glenn Payne, 63, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was born April 16, 1961 in Indianapolis to Linda Walker and the late Leroy Payne. Brian married Lavita Eilane Rigsby Payne on September 5, 1981. He was a self-taught, custom home roofer; and he and his brother, Brett, founded, owned and operated their own roofing company, B & B Brothers Construction.

Brian’s hobbies included fishing, gardening, attending rock concerts and travelling. He was a true family man who loved his wife, kids and grandkids. And that love extended beyond his immediate family to his close friends that he considered family. Brian didn’t drink, but he did enjoy relaxing on a riverbank while fishing. He could listen to Mozart and Metallica in the same day. He was a real man who will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Brian was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lavita Eilane Rigsby Payne and his father, Leroy Payne. He is survived by his children: Brian Payne, Jr., Brandt Payne and Brooke Payne; mother, Linda Walker; siblings: Brett Payne, Suzy Payne, Joe Payne and Richard Walker; grandchildren: Brian Payne III, Brendan Payne, Braylon Payne, Olivia Payne, John Mitchel, Jemma Mitchel and Jensen Mitchel; and many other loving family members and dear friends.

Brian will be laid to rest Friday, September 1, 2023, at 1 pm at Round Hill Cemetery, 5235 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
