Albert David Christensen, known to many as Al, passed away on April 22, 2026, just shy of his 55th birthday. Let it be said here and now that Albert was no ordinary man, and you might be hard-pressed to find anyone who truly understood him. He refused to be boxed in or defined by a single path, having held many jobs over the years, but insisting that his most important role was that of family man. He didn’t just say it; there he was, often staying home, taking care of the household while others chased traditional careers. He was stubborn in his dedication to putting family first.
Born on April 30, 1971, Albert was not one to sit idly by. He was constantly at work, always improving, always moving. His zest for life was evident in how he traveled extensively—having lived in Germany during the historic fall of the Berlin Wall, where he acquired actual pieces of it—and roamed all over the United States. Albert had a restless spirit outdoors and was particularly fond of fishing and spending time with his pets: dogs Hope and Fido, and his cat Gracie. His stubborn determination applied equally to fixing up the house and yard, working tirelessly on the property he loved.
Albert’s personality? Where to start! An awesome sense of humor that could light up any room no matter the mood. You could be sure that if you spent any time with him, you’d be laughing, whether you wanted to or not. A man who could talk your ear off about anything and everything, from the mundane to the divine. It was no secret he was deeply knowledgeable and made it a point to read the Bible daily, a habit he upheld with fierce devotion, having read it cover to cover over 17 times. The stubbornness in his faith was as firm as anything else about him. Albert loved talking about Jesus and spreading the word of the Bible with passion and persistence.
No one could doubt the depth of his love for his family. He was fiercely protective and devoted, especially to his daughter Kourtney and granddaughter Maple. Helping others wasn’t just a nice idea to Albert—it was a mission impossible to refuse. Whether helping the homeless get back on their feet or cheering on friends and family to succeed, he stubbornly put the needs of others before his own.
Albert is survived by those who undoubtedly shaped his world and whom he fiercely loved: his wife of 30 years, Denise Hogan; his daughter Kourtney Christensen; granddaughter Maple; sister Gina (Tim) Ogle; as well as extended family and friends including Kasi and Kevin. His pets—Hope, Fido, and Gracie—were close companions until the end. He followed in the footsteps of his late father David Christensen, mother Roxie Lee Rockstad, grandfather Albert Christensen, grandmother Agnes Rockstad, and former dogs Freedom and Bailey, who had shared parts of his life before.
If you remember Albert, remember a man who would stubbornly insist on doing things his way—who refused to let life pass without exerting every ounce of effort and love he had. A man who worked hard, played hard, and loved fiercely. A man who never took lightly the responsibilities of family and friend, who had a sharp wit, an even sharper mind, and a heart that wouldn’t quit. That was Albert David Christensen, and no one can ever say he failed to leave his mark.
