Angelique Geneva Massing, 69, a longtime resident of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Community South Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 23, 1955, in Stuttgart, Germany, Angelique was the daughter of William and Marguerite (Lang) Bond. As part of a military family, she moved to the United States at a young age—a journey that marked the beginning of a life full of resilience, strength, and heart.

Angelique had a warm and welcoming spirit that made people feel instantly at ease. She was a woman of many interests—she could often be found with a James Patterson book in hand, watching The Big Bang Theory, going fishing, or drinking coffee.

Angelique was a truly wonderful grandmother. She valued every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whether it was sitting down and coloring, FaceTiming them, or preparing them a meal. Her home was their safe place, filled with warmth, hugs, laughter, and delicious foods. To them, she wasn’t just a grandmother—she was a best friend, a storyteller, and a source of comfort.

Holidays were particularly special to Angelique. She loved hosting family gatherings, and a few of her birthdays turned into full-blown Halloween celebrations—complete with costumes and laughter that filled the house. Her kitchen was often the heart of these moments, where she showed her love through cooking—especially her famous stuffing, a dish her son Donnie looked forward to every year.

Music was another constant in her life. Angelique’s favorites included Janis Joplin, the Eagles, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, and it wasn’t unusual for those tunes to be playing while cleaning the house, or driving in the car.

Angelique was a friend of Bill W. and also a proud and active member of the Southside Fellowship Center. Through her own journey in recovery, she discovered a life of clarity, purpose, and community. She shared her experiences freely, mentoring many others and encouraging them to choose a better path. Her honesty, humor, and compassion made her a guiding light for those in need of hope.

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Jeff Piersall, and her children: Christina McKinney, Bethany (Chester) Vanover, Donnie (Rebecca) Massing, and J.T. Massing. Her grandchildren: Dennis, Ryean, Quinton, Katelyn, Sierra, Tiffany, and David, Nathanial, Alyssa, Caleb, Steven, Angelina, Isabella Pagel, Mila, Madden, Thomas, Megan, Juston and Tony. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Cheyanne, Michelle, Nicolette, Madelynn, T.J., Little David, and C.J.

She will be dearly missed by her close friend Rita and remembered fondly by her entire fellowship community, extended family, and friends. Her faithful Yorkies, Gizmo and Toto, were constant companions by her side.

Angelique was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Taylor; her brother, William Bond; and her longtime friend, Peggy.
