It is with deep respect and solemnity that we announce the passing of Biak Hlein Mang, who departed from this life on March 31, 2026. Born in Vuangtu, Burma, Biak Hlein Mang was a man whose life journey was marked by dedication, service, and a passion for the things he loved.
Biak Hlein Mang proudly served his adopted country with honor and commitment, spending four years in the United States Army. His military service stands as a testament to his courage, discipline, and unwavering sense of duty.
Beyond his service, Biak Hlein Mang found joy and camaraderie in the sport of basketball, a beloved pastime through which he expressed his competitive spirit and love for teamwork. Those who knew him well remember his enthusiasm for the game and the warmth he brought to every gathering.
He is survived by his loving parents, Bawi Hlung and Khin Win Kyi, whose support and guidance shaped his character and grounded him throughout his life. Their enduring bond with their son is a reflection of the deep family ties that meant so much to Biak Hlein Mang.
A funeral service for Biak will be held Friday April 17 at 10 am at Zophei Baptist Church located at 2620 W Southport Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46217. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis. Friends may gather for visitation on Thursday, April 16 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions located at 925 East Hanna Avenue Indianapolis 46227.
As we honor the life of Biak Hlein Mang, we reflect on a man whose legacy is woven from service, family devotion, and the simple joys that define a meaningful life. He will be remembered with great respect and fondness by all who had the privilege to know him.
