In Loving Memory of Brenda Lou Dennis

Brenda Lou Dennis, 63, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026. She was born on September 1, 1962, to James Rice and Nancy Brooks and was one of a set of twins. Throughout her life, Brenda was known for her kind heart, her quiet strength, and the genuine love she showed to everyone around her.

Brenda shared a beautiful life with her husband, Michael Dennis. Together they built a family that became the center of her world. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother to Christina Pannell (James Pannell) and Derrick Dennis (Sasha Wilson), and nothing made her smile quite like being "Grammy." Her grandchildren, Alexus Chism, Zakhari Pannell, Maya Dennis, Grace Dennis, and Aiden Dennis, brought her endless joy. Whether she was spending time with them, cheering them on, or simply enjoying being together, those were the moments she loved most.

Brenda had a way of making people feel at home. She never met a stranger, and it didn't take long for someone to become a friend. She was always willing to help, always ready to listen, and always thinking of others before herself. Her kindness wasn't something she turned on and off. It was simply who she was.

In her younger years, Brenda enjoyed bowling and made many wonderful memories with family and friends. She loved country music and especially looked forward to trips to Nashville. She also enjoyed coloring, working word searches, and spending quiet afternoons with her family. She found happiness in life's simple moments, especially when she was surrounded by the people she loved.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Michael Dennis; her children, Christina Pannell (James Pannell) and Derrick Dennis (Sasha Wilson); her grandchildren, Alexus Chism, Zakhari Pannell, Maya Dennis, Grace Dennis, and Aiden Dennis; her siblings, James Rice, Kevin Rice, and Chris Acord; and many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, Nancy Brooks and James Rice; her sister, Linda Dennis; and many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loved ones.

Brenda's family will remember her for the love she gave so freely, the encouragement she offered without hesitation, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. She leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring smiles for years to come.

A repast will be held at the funeral home following the burial. Family and friends are welcome to join the family for food and fellowship.

"Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always near”
