Listen to Obituary

Carolyn McKee, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 20, 2025. She was born on May 3, 1946, in Wendy, Kentucky, to the late Glenneth Nola (Bertram) and Nonnie Hancock.

Carolyn earned her associate degree and worked as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), a role that reflected her strong work ethic and caring nature. She was a woman of conviction—opinionated and never afraid to share her thoughts, often sparking lively conversations with those around her.

She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and felt accomplished anytime she made something with her own hands. She also loved traveling and was always there for anyone who needed to talk. She had a deep appreciation for music—Johnny Cash was her number one—and she found comfort in listening to old Baptist hymns.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Don McKee; children, Michael and Peggy McKee; grandchildren, Amy, Shelby, Alyssa, Robert, Dillon, and Tiffany; many great-grandchildren; and her sister, Joann Hancock.

She is preceded in passing by her son, David McKee, and her brothers, Steven and John Hancock.
