Charles Edward Henson

Charles Edward Henson, born on July 3, 1960, in Beech Grove, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Charles devoted 18 years of his professional life to the Westin Hotel, where he not only worked diligently but also fostered enduring friendships with his coworkers. He retired in 2023, leaving behind a legacy characterized by camaraderie and respect.

His service in the United States Marines for four years exemplified his commitment to duty and honor, a quality that remained a cornerstone throughout his life. Charles was known for his vibrant personality and enjoyed celebrating the holidays with loved ones. He had a particular fondness for BBQs, often creating joyful memories surrounded by family and friends.

In his leisure time, Charles enjoyed watching television and playing pool, always welcoming the opportunity for laughter and companionship. He was also a devoted dog lover, finding joy in the companionship of his pets, which he treated as beloved family members.

Charles leaves behind his cherished wife, Michelle Henson; his son, Curtis Stoneking; and his granddaughter, Penelope Stoneking. He is also survived by his beloved family members, including Leslie (Neil) Latshaw, Vanessa Henson, Aunt Pickles, his "favorite" sister in law, Lori Nicely; brother in law, John Hines; sister in law, Marilyn Imel; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition, he held a special bond with his best friend, Michael (Karen) Lindenmaier, whom he considered a brother.

He was predeceased by his parents, Troy L. Henson and Ora Morrow; his brothers, Troy L. Henson and John Gutzmer; brothers-in-law, Mike Hines and Larry Hines; and his beloved Uncle Butch, who held a special place in his heart.

Charles Edward Henson's legacy is one of love, friendship, and a spirit that will not be forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will continue to live on through the stories and love shared by his family and friends.
