Cheryl Jane Stader, a beloved figure in her community and cherished matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on September 7, 1944, in Indianapolis, Cheryl lived a life marked by her unwavering love for family and her generous spirit.

Cheryl dedicated twenty years of her career to Hook's Drug Store, followed by another twenty years as a custodian at J. Everett Light. Her strong work ethic and commitment to service were evident in everything she did, embodying the caring and loving personality that endeared her to all who knew her. Cheryl was known for her sense of humor and her strong-willed nature, always ready to lend a helping hand. She was the type of person who would give anyone the shirt off her back, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those around her.

A proud graduate of Arsenal Tech, Cheryl’s passions extended far beyond her work. She was a devoted fan of the Harry Potter series and found joy in reading and music. Throughout her life, she cultivated her creativity through scrapbooking and crafts, sharing her imaginative spirit with others. Cheryl also enjoyed bowling and had a remarkable talent for making people laugh, filling her environment with joy and warmth.

Cheryl is survived by her two loving daughters, Paula (Floyd) Hopkins and Dea (April) Stader. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, Crystal (Justin) Hopkins, Stephanie (David) Scaggs, and Logan Rush, and was a proud grandmother to her great-grandchildren, Haley, Corbyn, Caleb, Chloe, and Leah. Her legacy continues through her family, who will forever cherish the memories they created together. She is also survived by her siblings, Dennis (Nancy) Mulkey, Terry (Robert) Meyers, and Glen Mulkey.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Ronald Stader, and her parents, Delbert and Mildred Mulkey. 

As we remember Cheryl Jane Stader, we celebrate a life that was rich with love, laughter, and generosity. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
