A proud member of the United States Navy, Chris served as a Petty Officer 2nd Class from 1981 to 1987. His time in service instilled in him a profound sense of resourcefulness and problem-solving skills, traits that he carried into all aspects of his life. Chris had a remarkable ability to fix anything, earning him the admiration of many who relied on his practical wisdom.
In addition to his service to the nation, Chris enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He had a passion for woodworking, building, and remodeling which allowed him to express his creativity and craftsmanship. Bowling was another favorite pastime, and he could often be found at the lanes enjoying time with friends. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his grandbabies, whom he was immensely proud of, finding delight in every moment shared with them.
Chris was a loving father to his children: Roy Hawn and Rachel Rogers. He was also blessed with a cherished son-in-law, Brent Rogers, and two adoring grandchildren, Cole Rogers and Emberly Rogers. His mother, Mildred Koss, and siblings Gerry Hawn, Mitchell Hawn, Cheryl Boekankamp, and Lisa Mennel, along with other family members Rose Lynk and Rick Binford, survive him, each of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carroll Hawn, who, along with Chris's selfless spirit, created a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
