David Owen, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 26, 2025.
He was born on October 28, 1962, in Franklin, Indiana, to Malcome and Louise Owen. David was the kind of man who believed in hard work, doing things right, and taking care of his own. He never minded getting his hands dirty — in fact, he preferred it that way
After high school, David earned his certificate in Welding and Hydro Gear, becoming a Master Service Technician. He was self-employed and took great pride in being self-reliant, putting in the kind of long hours that only someone who truly values hard work can.
When he wasn’t working, David was rarely sitting still. He loved to fish and go out on a boat, and if he wasn’t near the water, he was probably out shooting or loading his own ammo — another one of his many skills. If something needed fixing, David didn’t call anyone—he just rolled up his sleeves and got it done. He had a knack for figuring things out and preferred doing things with his own two hands.
David is survived by his children, Mitchell (Sam) Owen, Samantha (Olivia) Owen, Mackie (Brittany) Owen, Devin (Mackenzie) Ridge, Shaen Lawerence, Ryker Owen, and Michael Owen; his grandchildren, Isabella, David, Logan, Karson, Malcome, Hunter, and Lilly; his father, Andrew Malcolm Owen; his brother, Scott Owen; and his aunt, Cindee Phillips.
He is preceded in passing by his mother, Louise Owen, and his cousin and best friend, Mike Owen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM. Pastor George Whirley will be officiating.
