DaVonna LeAira Kay McLaurine was born on June 23, 1985, and transitioned from this life on January 3, 2026. She was a woman of strength, laughter, resilience, and deep love-especially for her children.
DaVonna was born to DaVonna Patterson and Walter Robertson. She attended Crispus Attucks High School and later earned her GED, a testament to her determination to keep moving forward regardless of life's challenges.
For more than 20 years, DaVonna dedicated herself to customer service, where her personality shined just as brightly as her work ethic. She had a natural way with people-real, relatable, and unforgettable. Her sense of humor was one of her trademarks; she could make anyone laugh, even on their hardest days.
Above all else, DaVonna was proud of being a mother. Raising her three sons was her greatest accomplishment and her deepest joy. Everything she did, she did with them in mind.
Known affectionately by many names—DBo, Vonda's, VonDuece, G S***, Lil Bird, and many more-DaVonna was loved in many circles and left her mark everywhere she went. Each name reflected a different side of her spirit, but all pointed to the same truth: she was one of a kind.
DaVonna was preceded in death by her father, Walter Robertson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three beloved sons: Jason Johnson, James Johnson, and DeVion Johnson; her husband Taiwo Adelaja her mother, DaVonna Patterson; her siblings: Walter Robertson, Shalom Robertson, Natalia Robertson, Abria Robertson, Kammie Dixon, and Shannon Smith, along with extended family, close friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her laughter, loyalty, and love.
Though her physical presence is gone, DaVonna's spirit lives on through her children, her family, closest friends and the countless memories she created. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
