Deidre Laurine Finchum, affectionately known as Dee, passed away on May 1, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her beloved husband, Edward Finchum, by her side. Born on November 25, 1964, in Indianapolis, Dee lived a life filled with love, warmth, and countless cherished memories.

A proud graduate of Perry Meridian High School, Class of 1983, Dee was a dedicated professional who carved out a successful career as the Manager of Food Service. Her loving and caring nature made her an exceptional person to be around. Friends and family often noted that she had a unique ability to connect with everyone she met, never having met a stranger.

Dee's zest for life was evident through her passions and interests. She was a travel enthusiast, with cherished memories of trips to Chicago and many other destinations. Music brought her great joy, especially her love for attending concerts, where she delighted in seeing her favorite band, Rival Sons. Above all, Dee treasured the time spent with her family, which stands out as her proudest accomplishment, Deidre also looked forward to going out to eat and trying different restaurants. She took immense pride in helping to raise her granddaughter, Ayvah Finchum, from birth, exemplifying her commitment to family and nurturing spirit.

Dee is survived by her husband, Edward Finchum; her son, Anthony Finchum; her grandchildren, Ayvah Finchum; her mother, Gloria McCauley; her sisters, Deanna, Donna, Danyelle, Debbie, Denise, and Diane; her brothers, James and Jon; as well as several nieces and nephews, along with her father-in-law and step-mother-in-law Edward and Jenny Finchum and her mother-in-law Mickey Finchum who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.

Dee was preceded in death by her father, George McCauley; her son, Joshua Bracken; and her brother-in-law, Dan Finchum. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their memories will continue to resonate with those who loved her.

As we reflect on the life of Deidre Laurine Finchum, we remember a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a friend who illuminated the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will remain with us, inspiring us to embrace life with the same love and kindness that she so freely shared.
