Indianapolis - Donald Ray Arnold, 67, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024. He was born May 5, 1957 in Jefferson City, TN to Hazel M. Craig Arnold and the late John L. Arnold. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and love, remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Donald spent many dedicated years working in retail sales for Wilchers Produce, where his warm personality and infectious laughter often brightened the days of both coworkers and customers alike. He was a proud graduate of Wood High School in Indianapolis which laid the foundation for a life characterized by a strong work ethic and a compassionate spirit.
A man who truly loved to smile and laugh, Donald also had a tender heart for animals, feeling a special connection to those who were stray. His compassion extended to all living beings, and many will fondly recall his generosity in feeding animals in need.
Donald married Brenda Arnold Blankenship on May 2, 1976. Their union created a vibrant family, which Donald cherished deeply. He is survived by his mother, Hazel Craig Arnold and his daughters, Melissa "Missy" Day and her husband, Buddy and Crystal "Chrissy" Ardiano and her husband, Jose Rafael De la Cruz. He also leaves behind his siblings, Debbie Arnold, Tena Napolitan, and Carla McClusky, along with his loving aunt, Margaret Denton.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kyle Rigdon, Sierra Day, Miguel Lazo, and Briana Lazo, and his great-grandchild, Riley Emerick, who will carry forward the values of kindness and laughter that he instilled in them.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, John "Tiny" Arnold, along with his brothers, Stanley and Jack Arnold, and his grandchild, Christian Ray Lazo.
Donald Ray Arnold’s warmth and zest for life made a significant impact on those around him, leaving behind cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.
